Ricky Pearsall is someone I haven’t been able to make up my mind on. I was a little surprised to see him get drafted in the first round, but it happened so he now carries that draft capital with him. The situation he’s in probably couldn’t be any better. Every single other weapon on the 49ers is either old, injury prone, or both. Unfortunately, Ricky Pearsall is checking both of those boxes too. I excuse his absence during his rookie season of course, but getting hurt his sophomore season was a bummer. He’s going to be 26 during Week 1 of the NFL season. That’s not exactly young for a player with very limited NFL experience and production. I can genuinely entertain either side of the Ricky Pearsall argument. He can easily be a hold if you believe in that first round talent and the flashes he has shown. However, he can easily be a sell to those managers who have more faith in him than you do. It also remains to be seen if the 49ers draft a pass catcher in round 1. It wouldn’t bury Ricky on the depth chart by any means, but it wouldn’t do him many favors since his hype seems to be attached to his projected volume share. Curious to know what you guys think. submitted by /u/JayBaby90210 [link] [comments]
