We tend to not really consider back-up QBs as deserving of their Super Bowl champion status. We think of them as riding the bench. But many do contribute whether it's through actually playing in the regular season or in support roles. I'm not talking about the ones who actually ended up playing in and winning the Super Bowl (Foles, Brady, Hostetler, etc.) I'm talking about those who may have seen significant snaps in the regular season. Who do you think is deserving of being called a Super Bowl champion despite not actually seeing playing time in the game itself? Some examples: Brock Osweiler (2015) - Led the Broncos to some crucial wins, including over the Patriots, to clinch the #1 Seed. Matt Moore (2019) - Played 3 games for the Chiefs when Mahomes was injured with a 2-1 record. Jimmy Garoppolo (2016) - During Brady's suspension, he got the Patriots to 2-0 before getting injured himself. Honorary mention to Jacoby Brissett who went 1-1 after Jimmy G himself got injured. Personally, I am of the opinion that practically everyone on a Super Bowl team is deserving of being a champion as they all contribute in some ways that are not quite as visible to us fans, but that's a discussion for another day. submitted by /u/Ornery_Gator [link] [comments]
