Via Mike Reiss of ESPN, the possibility of a Patriots game in the land of kilts and bagpipes is currently in the “conversation” stage . Citing unnamed NFL sources, Reiss says it's not yet an "active" situation. Factors for the selection of a country to host an NFL game include whether there's an existing fanbase to support the game, whether the country has a stadium that would meet (or be close to) NFL standards, and whether NFL teams are interested in playing there. Obviously, the last one is already satisfied — the Patriots want to play in Scotland. The other issues would have to be analyzed and resolved before the Tartan Army could join forces with Flying Elvis.
