The Mark Sanchez criminal trial as once again been delayed. Via Jarrett Lewis of WIBC, the trial date has been pushed from July 13 to September 8 , one day before the start of the 2026 NFL regular season. It's the fifth time the trial has been continued. The final pre-trial conference had been set for today, July 8. Eventually, the trial will happen. (We think.) Barring a plea deal, Sanchez will stand trial on multiple charges arising from an October 2025 alley fight with Perry Tole, a 69-year-old truck driver. Sanchez had been in town to call a Raiders-Colts game on October 5. Fox later parted ways with Sanchez. Tole stabbed Sanchez multiple times. The authorities accepted Tole's version of the events, concluding he acted in self-defense; Sanchez told police he remembered nothing. Charged with felony battery, Sanchez faces up to six years in prison, if convicted. Tole also has a civil lawsuit pending against Sanchez, Fox, and the company that owns St. Elmo's.
