Mac Jones — Biggest Off-Consensus -- SEE Substack for Full Post Jalen Hurts QB7 v QB11 The biggest divide between QBs in the Top 6 & QBs between 8-14 is that the QBs in the Top 6 — particularly Allen, Daniels, Jackson, & Burrow — will very clearly project as Top 6 QBs year-over-year when healthy with the potential to be the QB1. While QBs in the next Tier could profile to be a QB1, Herbert, Mahomes, Nix, & Purdy are players who more commonly will project in that 9-15 range year-over-year. (Dart is obviously an exception discussed below). While Jalen Hurts did have a big fall-off this year in Rushing TDs, he still scored 8, and I am still projecting Hurts to be a player who scores 8-10 Rushing TDs a Season. With that kind of projection, it is almost impossible to not be a top half QB. There have been 14 QB Seasons in the 2020s with 8+ Rushing TDs, and the only QB to finish below QB7 was New England Patriots Cam Newton, who had 8 Passing TDs & 10 Interceptions. [...] But as a 28-YO QB with two SB appearances, a SB Championship, & an archetype that lends itself to Top 6 Fantasy Finishes, even with some doubts about Hurts as a QB overall, he should be able to remain a starting QB, and as a starting QB, he is very Fantasy friendly. — Jaxson Dart QB13 v QB9 Jaxson Dart does have the strongest upside case in his Tier, and at a different position where scarcity and maintaining starters is less difficult, Dart very well may be the top player in his own Tier. But with how difficult it is to roster consistently-quality Starting QBs, Dart’s Tier is just simply too high to invest in the player that as an NFL QB I currently believe in the least. [...] In this process, Dart has moved around the Tier quite a bit. He began in the lower end, but I did start moving him up myself based on his rushing output.
