Rookie rankings get all the attention this time of year, but I think some real value swings happen in veteran trade windows. Here's where I'm moving actual assets: Selling: Derrick Henry, RB BAL — Still productive, still a name people overpay for in win-now trades, but he's aging into the part of the curve where value falls off a cliff, not a slope. If you're rebuilding at all, this is the year to flip him to a contender who's chasing a title, not banking on 2027 relevance. Contenders will overpay for proven volume in July; that market disappears the moment he has one bad month. Selling: DK Metcalf, WR PIT — Talent was never the question, but the target competition in Pittsburgh (Michael Pittman, plus now Germie Bernard in the room) and QB uncertainty cap his ceiling more than his ADP admits. He's a great sell into a redraft-minded manager who still values name recognition over current situation. Buying: Tre Harris, WR LAC — Efficiency profile is quietly one of the better ones in his class, and he's not being drafted like it because of a crowded-sounding WR room. Landing spot concerns are priced in more than they should be given his separation numbers. Buying: DJ Moore, WR BUF — Traded from Chicago to Buffalo this offseason, reuniting him with Joe Brady, the OC who got the best stretch of his career out of him back in Carolina. He's landing on a Bills offense that ranked near the bottom of the league in WR target share last year and badly needed a proven weapon. The market is still pricing his down 2025 in Chicago instead of the fresh offense and familiar playcaller — that gap is the buy window. Buying: Chris Godwin, WR TB — Coming off injury recovery concerns that are mostly, possibly, hopefully behind him now, and the market hasn't repriced him back up yet. If you can get him at a discount tied to last year's health scare, that's a market inefficiency, not a real risk. The current price, I feel, makes it worth it. The pattern across all of these: the market is pricing situation and name value ahead of actual opportunity and production. I'm realizing more and more that gap is where trade value gets made or lost in July. Anyone else you feel the market hasn't caught up on yet? submitted by /u/Waroom_Creator [link] [comments]
