All offseason, you have heard that this is a weaker draft class. I will not attempt to sugarcoat anything; this is as weak a draft class as I have covered since I started doing this in 2012. On top of that, the few glimpses of hope we were holding out in terms of draft capital and landing spots did not help boost this class. We even had a few teams double up on potentially redundant assets in terms of functionality, hurting two players at once. This was the worst running back class I have covered, which played out in terms of draft investment. We had one blue-chip asset in Jeremiyah Love . Jadarian Price got into the end of the first round, but we only had one running back selected on Day 2. That player ( Kaelon Black ) will be 25 years old as a rookie and was not invited to the NFL Combine. The wide receiver class had a few strong assets at the top, but then quickly became a vast, flat tier of players who do not project well in fantasy. We will have hits along the way from that group, but the draft played out in sync with expectations. We have a clear 1.01 this year in Love. Love is a special player capable of having multiple production seasons and swinging a league. There is a wide gap between him and the 1.02. If I can sell out for the 1.01, I don’t mind overpaying if it involves future picks. Many teams with the 1.01 are probably not in a position where Love immediately vaults them into contention, but do not discount the value of e…
