Hey what’s up gang! For me, the off-season has been super-busy, with half my time going to improvements on TapThatDraft. The good news is that it’s live for you to use again-- today! <-- Just click here to find it and try! (Free user accounts, needed to use the Live features-- to remember your picks and settings) We had tens of thousands of free users last year, and I hope the tool will be even more useful this time. Screenshots showing the appearance of Snake draft with live recommendations (left) and example positional output for auction (right) If you’re wondering why people like to use these kinds of rankings, here’s a super-quick primer I made, for newbies. Don't worry, plenty more explanations will come later… But if you want details now, see this big megathread from 2025. And here are 10 articles about drafting on my website. For now, these are the 3 significant upgrades to know about: 1. Tweak your own rankings. By default, the tool still calibrates projections to align with positional ECR (0.5ppr). That was my own spin on VBD, which I felt was really important. But this year, you can instead click “My Rankings”, and a new interface will let you modify the player rankings-- in whatever order you want! The option My Rankings will let you customize the underlying player projection numbers. It preserves the ratios of player projections, but re-scales by interpolating the projected total fantasy point output. This means, if you have a favorite fantasy expert, you can rearrange players to match another ranking list. Meanwhile, all my background logic takes care of the rest, so you get a meaningful list. 2. Your free 1-pagers are called “Hold-My-Beer-Sheets”. TapThatDraft is officially referring to the web-based tool. (That exists because we surpassed what we originally aimed to do last year... The 1-pager was the main target! ) Like last year, find the “Print” buttons at the bottom, to generate paper versions. 3. Snake-drafts, dynamic mode: Team-specific pick suggestions. This was the big one! Start by choosing your own team# (“My Pick”), meaning your starting pick in your snake draft order. Example of output suggesting your best next picks. In this example you are \"team #2\" in the snake draft. Then, in snake-draft mode, the tool now keeps track of each league-mate's roster. That's important, because-- combined with a lot of other logic (that I personally designed)-- the tool will (1) look-ahead to the next rounds, (2) estimate near-term drop-offs in value (according to the positional demand by opposing teams), and (3) recommend your next pick based on your own roster needs and based on upcoming positional scarcity. I'm really happy with how it's working, and I look forward to your opinions. Try it out! RELATEDLY: I almost forgot to mention-- For Snake drafts, you should probably select "ADP" in the "reference" option of the setup page. And... Voila! By another new function, the tool will adjust your recommended picks, so that you automatically take advantage of the assumption that your league-mates will follow ADP. So it tells you when to reach, when to wait, and when to zig while others are zagging. Example output of a 1-pager. But remember, the whole point is you customize these for your own situation! There’s so much more to say, but I’ll keep this short and sweet for today. I'll for sure be posting again with more to say. Questions welcome! Man, it's good to be back. /Subvertadown submitted by /u/subvertadown [link] [comments]
