Just back in like November-December I remember seeing posts on this sub where people were penciling in Rice as a top 6ish Dynasty WR, even knowing full well the off-the-field stuff (I mean he was coming off a fat suspension for crying out loud), and ever since then his value has just continuously welted to where it is now as the WR29 on KTC. I understood the market-correction earlier on in the offseason when there was the lingering threat of KC spending a premium pick on a pass-catcher, but Rice came out of the draft and FA cycle completely unscathed, with the only real changes to KC's offense being an upgrade at OC in Eric Bienemy, as well as a new look run-game with the signing of Kenneth Walker. This is the final year of Rice's rookie deal, and it's well-known by now that players tend to post career-best numbers during contract years, and it's not like there's any indication that the Chiefs aren't planning a future extension beyond a reported interest in waiting it out on extension talks until the 2027 offseason. Off-the-field issues didn't stop them from extending Tyreek Hill in years past, after all. Call me bullish, but i'd be shocked if he doesn't finish as a top 10 WR next season. All he has shown to do ever since earning himself a featured role during the latter half of his rookie season is post WR1 numbers, and this is his first offseason since his rookie year without any lingering suspension risk to be reasonably worried about limiting his availability.
