Hello! Like many of you looking forward to the 2027 draft class, a ton of people are “punting” this year to enter the J.Smith sweepstakes, loaded in 2027 draft capital, etc. As such: who are the players who you expect to underperform this year b/c of situation, depth chart, etc but expect to be more relevant at the start of the 2028 season? This year’s example was Malik Willis and Tyler Allgeier (though that didn’t work out exactly) - someone you didn’t mind stashing on a tanking roster in the hopes that they become more valuable one year from now. My nominee: Michael Mayer. The Raiders just spent a ton of cap this offseason so he could potentially walk next offseason and be the TE1 on another squad, especially with the rise of 12/13 personnel making TEs more valuable by the year. submitted by /u/DatsRadMan [link] [comments]
