Coming out of Ohio State he was given the "generational" tag, which is ridiculous and I think only happened because of his name. However, he was generally considered one of the cleanest WR prospects to enter the NFL in quite some time. People will point to him not living up to his expectations, which if you consider him a generational prospect, is probably true. His rookie year was still pretty good - 62/885/8 - and is only one of 8 rookie WRs to post at leas 800 yards and 8 TDs in the last decade. He was a common pick for a sophomore year breakout but it was disappointing on a couple levels. He dealt with drops and injuries. He played 80% of snaps his rookie year and less than 50% in Year 2, however, he still put up 41/608/4 is what essentially was 10 games. That is a 17 game pace of 70/1000/7 which is a solid line. Now he is hoping for the year 3 breakout similar to what Nico experienced a couple years ago. He has a new coach, new coordinator, and a new scheme. Brissett should be throwing it around the yard but MHJ also has to deal with McBride and the emergence of Wilson last year eating into his targets. So, is he the bust people are making him out to be? Or have our expectations been warped based on hype and draft capital? submitted by /u/TDn6I [link] [comments]
