We are smack dab in the middle of rookie draft season. Many fantasy managers are anxious to get their drafts kicked off as soon after the draft as possible, something to whet the fantasy appetite before taking the summer off to kill idle time prior to football season ramping up in August. The time between April’s draft and today has allowed rookie ADP to settle in. Utilizing DLF’s May Rookie ADP , we will look at players who are being overlooked in rookie drafts in the early going. Ja'Kobi Lane , WR BAL Current Rank: 28th Overall; WR16 There may not be a bigger boom or bust receiver in this class than Ja’Kobi Lane. His lack of physicality and dynamic athleticism may cause him to wash out of the league quickly. On the flipside, you can dream on him being a strong WR2 given his ball skills and redzone prowess, especially if he can clean up his footwork and add to his frame as he matures physically. The strength of this class – or lack thereof – is what has me ranking Lane more aggressively. With modest talent around him, it is a good time to take a big swing to see if you can get someone with a chance to be a difference-maker.
