We’re approaching the month of July and the quiet before training camp kicks off. While the draft, free agency, trades and cuts have answered a lot of the fantasy football questions for the 2027 season, training camp will be the final chance for the NFL to answer those questions prior to the kickoff of meaningful games. Nearly every team in the league will have some intense position battles in the month of August, and a large portion of them will have an impact on our fantasy football analysis. In this piece, I’ll highlight the four position battles that I’ll be watching the most closely at the four major fantasy football positions. Browns Quarterback - Deshaun Watson vs. Shedeur Sanders DLF ADP Comparison between Watson and Sanders. The Deshaun Watson storyline will not go away, but the Browns' inability to draft or develop a solid starter is what’s really to blame. Watson hasn’t looked like a starting quarterback since 2020, but his massive contract has kept him in a Browns uniform this whole time. Meanwhile, the Browns have taken several bites at the apple in the NFL Draft, but none of them have paid off. Dillon Gabriel had the higher draft capital from last year’s class, but he didn’t do much with his chances, forcing the team to give Sanders a chance.
