Fantasy football is a game decided by numbers. In this four-part series, I’ll be reviewing advanced player metrics via Player Profiler from the 2025 season - to explain the true story behind the data, combine this with factors from the off-season and provide actionable advice in dynasty. The fourth and final article in the series will focus on a trio of tight ends, analyzing metrics to give a true reflection of performance and expectations moving forward. The previous article on wide receivers can be found here . Colston Loveland , TE CHI Targets: TE12 Target Share %: TE19 Snap Share: TE24 Routes Run: TE19 Air Yards: TE4 Target Depth: TE3 Red Zone Targets: TE11 First Read Targets: TE11 Catchable Target Rate %: TE35 Receptions: TE13 Receiving Yards: TE9 Yards After Catch: TE21 Touchdowns: TE10 First Downs Per Route Run: TE6 Yards Per Route Run: TE6 Target Separation: TE19 Contested Catch %: TE23 Fantasy Points Per Route: TE7 Fantasy Points Per Game (FPPG): TE15 One of the most appealing players at tight end, sophomore Colston Loveland has plenty of hype entering year two, despite finishing his rookie season as the TE15 in fantasy points per game (FPPG). Loveland had a slower start, finishing as the TE12 in targets and with strong competition was only the TE19 in target share percentage. On the cusp of a TE1 fantasy season in FPPG as a rookie, Loveland was only the TE24 in snap share and the TE19 in routes run, making the most of his opportunity, working alongside heavy target competition. He wasn’t the most efficient player, as the TE13 in targets but this is partly due to a catchable target rate where he was the TE35 overall. It is also due to his usage in the deep passing game, where Loveland was the TE4 in air yards and TE3 in target depth, leading to a stronger output in receiving yards (TE9) versus his targets (TE12). Loveland was used slightly better than expected in terms of priority volume - finishing as the TE11 in both first read targets and red zone targets, converting well as the TE10 in overall touchdowns. Surprisingly, Loveland is not what you would consider explosive or great at maximizing a situation, reflected by his TE21 finish in yards after the catch and the TE19 in target separation. Another layer of uncertainty is added, with a below-average score as the TE23 in contested catch percentage. Loveland’s saving grace in dynasty could be volume-based, as he was impressive as the TE6 in both first downs per route run and yards per route run - an increase in volume would solidify a TE1 fantasy finish. Loveland was also the TE7 in fantasy points per route. Verdict SUBSCRIBE TO DLF PREMIUM! Gain Instant Access to this resource and so much more!.
