Welcome back to the DLF Mailbag, the preeminent mailbag in all the dynasty fantasy football land. According to Colts running backs coach De Andre Smith , the team is seeking ways to lighten the load of stud ball carrier Jonathan Taylor . It’s sensible enough, given the veteran’s heavy workload across both college and the pros. It would be further in line with the prevailing wisdom that multiple ball carriers can be employed for multiple functions. On the other hand, the Colts are heavily invested in… …winning games. So while Taylor assuredly cannot be on the field for every snap, he’s going to be leveraged liberally, and in the biggest situations. With only DJ Giddens and Seth McGowan backing him up, it’s not as if Indy is rife with options. Another week of discerning signal from the noise, rinse and repeat! However, as Taylor is now 27 years old, owners may be beginning to take more of a “redraft” mentality towards him, meaning any potential ding to his 2026 output is a ding to his dynasty value. If you’re a believer in his talent, this is another example of using the available information to your advantage and trying to swing a deal. As a reminder, there are multiple ways to pose your burning questions! You can send me a tweet on Twitter/X ( @EDH_27 ), and you can also reach out using our Discord channel, or the old-fashioned way ( via our online webform ). Let’s get to it! From Discord… Love(land) the One You’re With? Which side do you prefer in a 12-team, PPR, superflex, TE-premium league – Colston Loveland and a 2027 second-round pick, or Jordyn Tyson and Carnell Tate ? To be clear, I don’t want to be labeled as a “hater.” That’s John DiBari’s gig. I’m pretty sure litigation would be involved if I infringed, and I have no desire to be buried in paperwork. But what are we doing here? Sensibly enough given the format, Loveland carries the most value. But we’re talking about the 2026 rookie WR1 and WR2, who are not far off the pace and heavily slant the value to their side. Were it not for the empty-calorie future second-round pick, this would be a skunking. As shown above, after starting slow out of the gates Loveland had an above-average rookie season, culminating with some high-end finishes as he began playing a larger snap share. There were some clunkers in there too, as well as a few lines saved by touchdowns, but by and large it was a promising series of data points. But I’m quite simply unclear why the hype train is barreling down the tracks at its current speed. I’m also worried that the Chicago offense as a whole is getting a little too big for its fantasy britches. Quarterback Caleb Williams ’ counting stats were better in year two, but he was still far too inaccurate, and not terribly efficient. Part of this was due to 8.5 intended air yards per passing attempt (seventh in the league), but he also had the third-highest bad throw percentage (20.7%) according to Pro Football Reference , and the second-worst on-target percentage, ahead of only JJ McCarthy . For a team that is ostensibly going to support breakouts from both Loveland and receiver Luther Burden , and who has former first-round pick Rome Odunze to feed, this is a problem. That latter point may be problematic. As shown above, Loveland did his best work when Odunze was sidelined, which should make us question how the pecking order will look when each player is healthy. Currently the dynasty TE3, I’m seeing red flashing lights when projecting a scenario where Lovela…
