Sup guys and gals? Now that the draft dust has settled, we are getting a better handle on the landscape going into 2026. The startup ADPs and dynasty valuation sites are all updating. And, for teams in a position to win now, one player early on here looks like a screaming value to me - Chris Godwin. The full article at this link breaks down in why the talent, scheme, and opportunity are all lining up. But here is a quick synopsis. Talent: We all know this is an extremely talented player who has had multiple stints as high as the WR2 in all of fantasy, including in 2024. Health is the question but he's now coming up on a year from his last surgery and was reportedly looking like himself at the very end of last year already. Scheme: Godwin has had his best seasons when he gets to play slot in 3 WR sets then move to flanker for 2 WR sets. That's exactly what Liam Coen did in 2024 and Zac Robinson comes from the same coaching tree. Both come from LAR and Robinson was the pass game coordinator for the Rams in 2023 when Cooper Kupp was used that way and had the greatest fantasy football WR season of all time. Opportunity: Mike Evans is gone. In every game they played together last year, Chris Godwin played more slot snaps than Emeka Egbuka. It's likely Egbuka moves into the split end role with Godwin getting the coveted slot role. There seems to be a bit of a "false choice dillema" going on here where people think that, if you like Egbuka, you can't like Godwin. That went on for years between Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, leading Godwin to be a value buy at multiple different points. Price: Godwin in redraft is going off the board outside the top 40 WRs on most best ball platforms. Sites like PeakedInHighSkool and KTC have him valued with players like Khalil Shakir, Jalen Coker, and Kayshon Boutte. The rankings suggest he can be had for a 2nd which is well worth it for his upside if you are competing now. Again, the full article fleshes everything out a little more so check that out when you get the chance - would love to hear what you guys think! submitted by /u/CoopThereItIs [link] [comments]
