Elite draft capital guy that would have likely been a top 2, if not the #1 Wr in his draft class if he was purely a receiver. We usually don’t expect a ton of production from rookie wide receivers, we just want to see certain flashes that point to future value. It’s hard to say any rookie player “flashed” as dramatically as Hunter, who finished week 7 as a top 10 receiver and then missed the rest of the season. Yet, I’m confused how Hunter managed to drop 7~ rounds in value without disappointing as a wide receiver or impressing as a corner. Keep in mind, the NFL values receivers far above corners. At every level of play, wide receivers are payed substantially more than their cornerback equals. Travis Hunter would have to be a vastly better corner than receiver in order for there to be any sense in an NFL team playing him at corner, and that just isn’t what we saw last year. Btw, in 7 games he had more games (all 7) with 50%+ offensive snap percentage than Luther Burden did with 17 games The other concern with Hunter is that his situation on the Jags doesn’t leave him a path to fantasy success. This is a more understandable problem to me, but one that we’ve seen fix itself time and time again. Last year, Egbuka dropped in drafts because of his crowded situation, nobody is concerned about that anymore. Bucky Irving when we thought he’d play backup to Rachaad White, Christian Watson gaining massive value this offseason as 2 of his fellow receivers went elsewhere, even Kenneth Walker seemingly being stuck with Charbonnet until his team let him walk, you get the point. The Jags are aware they have a surplus at wide receiver, which leaves the door open for all kinds of choices that would free up targets for Hunter. Meyers is turning 30, Parker Washington is on the last year of his contract, and BTJ is maybe the most discussed potential trade candidate in the league. So, where is this 23 year old amazing prospect who flashed major upside in his short time in the NFL being valued in dynasty? KTC has the guy behind Xavier Worthy, Michael Pittman, Jayden Reed, and Jayden Higgins. I just can’t comprehend the logic on a single one of these players being close in value to Hunter. Please convince me why you’re out on Hunter, before I become irrationally high on him. submitted by /u/Mysterious-Hour8885 [link] [comments]
