Contending in a lopsided dynasty league

I've been in a dynasty league for about 5 years now. I joined the league at the invitation of a friend, but among the 12 teams in this league I'm the outsider in that they all know each other but only my friend knows me. Over time, this league has become lopsided in that 3-4 owners seem to continually acquire the other teams' best draft picks and assets through trades that they always win. One of the better teams is seemingly always picking in the top 3. One of them has 3 of the top 6 WRs. This has made the league less than competitive. I can't really take advantage of the foolish owners in the same way because they are inclined to trade with one another, but they drive much harder bargains with me. I've done OK, I make the playoffs every year, but am not able to go further because of the power teams that feed off the minnows. How would you go about trying to compete in a league like this? How do you identify inefficiencies or ways you can compete when the best assets continue to coalesce around a few teams, while others are seemingly always selling and in rebuilding mode? submitted by /u/Eliminated_Bowser [link] [comments]
