I know it's time to get back to working on grades when I start getting DMs about if I'm going to do them this year. A few of you have been asking, and here we go. I want to stop here before we begin and acknowledge that this year marks 10 years of doing these grades and refining the process now and 7 of posting them here on Reddit. I've said it many times and I'll keep saying it: thanks to anyone and everyone that has engaged with this project over the years even if it's just to say thanks or ask a clarifying question. After all this time, I've pretty much lost the level of intrinsic interest in dynasty and player evaluation to keep it going were it not for wanting to get these out there for the folks I know look forward to it every year. So again, thanks! Now on to the grades. --- For those of you that aren't already familiar with what I do, here is the link to my final WR grades from last year. I didn't review them throughout the year like I've done some years in the past but looking back on them now, I have to pat myself on the back. Even with a rookie year's worth of new data, I think I have basically the same feelings about all these guys and I'm proud of my thoughts on the players I commented on specifically toward the end of the article. You can still view my historical WR grades here. If you're new and want some more convincing to stick around, here is an analysis of my grades over the years someone else did. Before my old account got suspended, I wanted to do a retrospective kind of thing like this and someone did it for me. Shout out to you u/CultofBroadly! --- Before the grades some high-level things to keep in mind: These are the projected grades and are pending draft capital. They can and will change and capital is my single most highly weighted input. For now I'm using Charlie Campbell's mock draft rounds 1-4 for my capital input. He only drafted 20 WRs in those mocks, so I only did 20 for now. I'll do every WR that gets drafted plus any interesting undrafted players in my final grades. EDIT: Oh and also a lot of top guys didn't put down official athletic testing this year so I just assume they meet my lowest threshold there and no more. If I find compelling reason to raise any of them over time, that could mix things up too though far less than changes in draft capital. * These grades are attempting to solve for first 2 years NFL fantasy production. And first 2 years production is a good proxy for career production. * Player evaluation is useless absent consideration of market price and personal exposure rates. Dynasty is 100% a game about beating the market and having an efficient distribution of assets. So take that into consideration. This year for example, just because I have Burden graded so highly, that does not mean you need to be taking him at 1.05 or whatever. The move is to trade back off that pick, realize the value between 1.05 and ~2.02 and then draft Burden. As to efficient exposure, obviously this only comes into play if you're playing a portfolio approach to this hobby. The less leagues you have, the less this matters and the more it becomes purely about simple evaluation. The closer you come to playing 1 league, the more it becomes about "getting your guy". * I'd estimate I watched about 1 hour total of college football last season. I don't do film evaluation. I do have a film evaluation input that is heavily weighted and for that I rely on Lance Zierline at nfl.com. If you prefer more film-oriented anal…
