The Philadelphia Eagles have seemingly spent the entire off-season loading up on wide receivers. After all, they added the likes of Dontayvion Wicks , Marquise Brown and Elijah Moore through free agency and then took USC rookie Makai Lemon in the first round of of the 2026 NFL Draft. It all pointed to the end of the AJ Brown era in the City of Brotherly Love and today the Eagles made it official, sending Brown to the New England Patriots in exchange for a fifth round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft and a first round selection in 2028. It’s a steep price to pay for the Pats but after reaching the Super Bowl last season, they obviously feel like it’s time to strike. The deal was expected the past couple of months but now that’s come to fruition, let’s take a look at the new dynasty values of the players involved. AJ Brown , WR NE Over his seven years with the Titans and Eagles, Brown has been more than productive, posting 524 catches for 8,029 receiving yards and 56 touchdowns. However, last year was again not one for the record books as he recorded “just” 78 catches for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns. His last three games (including a playoff loss) were especially disappointing as he caught a total of just nine passes for 60 yards in those three games combined. In fact, outside of a three-game stretch early in the year, Brown had just two other 100-yard games and seven with fewer than 50 yards – unacceptable for a player with his kind of talent. The friction between Brown, Jalen Hurts and the Eagles just got to a boiling point and the situation was untenable. This is just life in the NFL. In New England, the 28-year old Brown will instantly become the top target for Drake Maye in the passing game. After all, you don’t trade a future first round pick in 2028 and a fifth rounder next season for a player to endure a lack of targets. In 2022 and 2023, Brown posted 194 catches, almost 3,000 receiving yards, scored 18 touchdowns and had a whopping 303 targets. While those numbers may be a stretch for him playing in New England, we’ve seen what he can do in the past. In the end, Brown should be treated as a low-end WR1 or elite-level WR2 on your dynasty team with the potential to certainly outperform his past two seasons. Just be aware of his age – at 28, we’re inevitably going to see a decline coming in the next few seasons. Drake Maye , QB NE While he has a long way to go in becoming the greatest quarterback in New England history (tongue in cheek), Maye was fantastic in his second year, throwing for 4,394 yards with 31 touchdowns and just eight interceptions, leading the Patriots all the way to the Super Bowl in the process. When you add in his 450 rushing yards and four more scores on the ground, you had yourself a bona fide “set it and forget it” QB1 in dynasty leagues. In fact, his performance pushed him all the way up the QB2 in our rankings. If Brown can perform the way we know he can and Maye can progress even further, it’s possible he becomes dynasty fantasy football’s QB1, surpassing an aging Josh Allen at some point in the next year or two. Regardless, adding a player like Brown certainly won’t hurt his cause or his progress, DeVonta Smith , WR PHI We’ve often wondered what would happen if Smith truly became a WR1 on his team. Well, we’re about to find out what that looks like as the Slim Reaper is now poised to be the top dog in the passing game for the Eagles. Smith put up similar numbers to Brown last season (77/1,008/4) but should…
