Happy Monday, good people! What a jam-packed sports weekend. My head’s still spinning a bit as I absorbed multiple World Cup games, watched the Knicks win the title, saw the Hurricanes hoist the Stanley Cup, and witnessed Lewis Hamilton bring home his first win in red. The sports don’t stop though, so in today’s newsletter, I’m bringing you the news you need to know from over the weekend, along with the launch of my latest tool that you need to be using! The Latest Fantasy Football News Parker Washington, WR — JAC Set to be core piece of Jaguars passing game in full-time role Sports Illustrated’s John Shipley reports that Parker Washington is now in a full-time role on offense with the Jaguars and is positioned to be a core piece of what Jacksonville does in the passing game. Jaguars coach Liam Coen previously said he wants to unlock Washington’s post-catch potential and has praised his ability to line up out wide, in the slot, run routes at all three levels, and his improvements in reading coverages pre-snap. The Jaguars employed three-wide receiver sets at the league’s third-highest rate last season (70.9 percent). Eli Heidenreich, RB/WR — PIT Steelers coach Mike McCarthy impressed with dual-threat versatility Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy praised RB/WR Eli Heidenreich after practice, calling him an instinctive, natural football player with an excellent skill set who has had a tremendous start. McCarthy noted that Heidenreich has picked up the offense quickly and has positional flexibility, with the Steelers listing him with an RB/WR designation on their official team website. This versatility could provide him with multiple pathways to fantasy relevance. Sam LaPorta, Tight End — DET Continues participating in walkthroughs at OTAs Lions TE Sam LaPorta (back) continues to participate in walkthroughs at organized team activities, a positive sign following his November back surgery. There’s no reason for the Lions to push LaPorta at this point, as Detroit is taking the cautious approach with the 25-year-old tight end, holding him out of positional and team drills. Ideally, LaPorta will be ready for next month’s training camp. George Pickens, WR — DAL Cowboys WR George Pickens uncertain on mandatory minicamp attendance Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer told reporters that he expects Pickens to attend mandatory minicamp (June 16-18), though Pickens has not “committed” to doing so. When asked directly if he plans to attend, Pickens shrugged and declined to confirm, with his representative ending the conversation. Pickens is playing on the franchise tag for $27.3M this season and is still seeking a long-term extension, but the front office has indicated it does not plan to extend him this offseason. Missing minicamp sessions would result in daily fines. Kenneth Gainwell, RB — TB Buccaneers name Kenneth Gainwell as 1B running back in committee Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles referred to Kenneth Gainwell as the team’s 1B running back. Reports from mid-May indicated the Buccaneers might use a running back committee including Gainwell, Bucky Irving, and Sean Tucker. Sources indicate a two-player backfield is taking shape with Irving handling 1A duties and Gainwell in the 1B role. Gainwell has quickly picked up OC Zac Robinson’s playbook.
