The NFL Draft is behind us, rookie drafts are taking place, and as dynasty managers we are looking ahead to the upcoming season. In our Dynasty Rookie Post-Draft Update series, we break down all the incoming fantasy-relevant rookies, looking at their profiles and where they fit. The basis of the rookie profile involves the usage of STORM analysis, focusing on five key components: Situation, Talent, Opportunity, Risk, and Market. Situation Name: Seth McGowan Position: Running Back Pro Team: Indianapolis Colts College Team: Kentucky Draft Status: Round 7; Pick 21 McGowan was a four-star running back recruit coming out of the Dallas area, the number 20 recruit in the state of Texas. He grew up an Oklahoma football fan, and chose the Sooners over schools like Alabama, Notre Dame, Texas and USC. In eight games as a true freshman, he ran for 6.4 yards per carry. In the off-season, he was arrested and pleaded guilty to larceny, and Oklahoma dismissed him from the program. He sat out in 2021, and played at Texas College and Butler Community College in ‘22 and ‘23 before finally returning to FBS. He led New Mexico State in rushing in 2024 with 823 yards, and then transferred to Kentucky for his final college season. In Lexington, he rushed for 725 yards on 165 carries and scored 12 touchdowns. Six years after graduating from high school, McGowan declared for the NFL Draft and attended the Senior Bowl.
