Happy Friday, friends! I’ve been loving seeing all of the NFL highlights of OTAs and everything happening around the league pop up on my social media feeds. It feels so good to have recent action to look at versus simply reflecting on last season! With that being said, let’s dive in to the latest news from the past 48 hours and what it means from a fantasy football perspective, while also talking about some RB sleepers! This Substack is reader-supported. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber. The Latest Fantasy Football News Josh Jacobs, RB — Green Bay Packers Jacobs continues practicing at OTAs; Brown County DA still considering charges; no exempt list move from NFL Jacobs has been practicing normally with Green Bay through the first week of OTAs. The Brown County DA’s office has still not filed formal charges - the case remains under additional investigation. Additionally, the NFL has not placed Jacobs on the commissioner’s exempt list. His fantasy status is in a holding pattern until a charging decision is made. De’Von Achane, RB — Miami Dolphins Achane (shoulder) limited to individual drills at mandatory minicamp; not a full participant Dolphins HC Jeff Hafley confirmed Wednesday that Achane is limited to individual drills this week due to a shoulder issue. He’s not practicing in team drills, so this is a situation to continue to monitor. Rome Odunze, WR — Chicago Bears Odunze says his foot injury created a “new normal” with different bone structure; not pain-free but won’t prohibit playmaking Odunze was candid at Bears OTAs - his 2025 foot injury permanently altered the bone structure of his foot, similar to how a torn AC joint never returns to 100%. He says it’s his “new normal” and won’t stop him from making plays. However, it could explain his drop off in production over the back half of last year. Russell Wilson, QB — Retired Wilson officially retires; finalizing CBS Sports analyst role on “The NFL Today” After 14 seasons, Russell Wilson announced his retirement and he’s heading to the CBS broadcast network as an analyst. Shedeur Sanders, QB — Cleveland Browns Sanders surging in Browns QB competition; HC Monken says “we’ve got 2 starting-level quarterbacks” Shedeur Sanders had a strong week at OTAs and has pulled himself firmly back into the QB1 race with Deshaun Watson. HC Todd Monken told reporters: “Every day I lean one way or the other.” Adonai Mitchell, WR — New York Jets Jets hoping to make Mitchell “a crucial piece of their offense”; showing strong chemistry with Geno Smith at OTAs The Athletic’s Zack Rosenblatt reports the Jets view Mitchell as a key offensive piece in 2026. Mitchell posted a 24-301-2 line in 8 games with the Jets last season and is flashing good chemistry with new QB Geno Smith during OTAs. Jahmyr Gibbs, RB — Detroit Lions Gibbs mum on contract extension negotiations; Lions RB could be the highest-paid back in football Gibbs declined to comment on contract talks when asked at Lions OTAs Thursday. Detroit is reportedly in negotiations to make him one of the highest-paid running backs in the league. A long-term extension would lock in his bell-cow role and solidify his RB1 fantasy status for years — watch for an announcement during or after mandatory minicamp. Mike Evans, WR — San Francisco 49ers Evans described as a standout at 49ers OTA practice; making deep-ball connections with QB The Athletic reported Evans was “the go-getter everyone’s talking about”…
