The NFL Draft is behind us, rookie drafts are taking place, and as dynasty managers we are looking ahead to the upcoming season. In our Dynasty Rookie Draft Post-Draft Update series, we break down all the incoming fantasy-relevant rookies, looking at their profiles and where they fit. The basis of the rookie profile involves the usage of STORM analysis, focusing on five key components: Situation, Talent, Opportunity, Risk, and Market. Situation Name: Tanner Koziol Position: Tight End Pro Team: Jacksonville Jaguars College Team: Houston via Ball State Draft Status: Round 5, 164 overall The Jaguars turned heads when they took Nate Boerkircher with the 56th overall pick in round two. A man with 38 total receptions over five seasons was not one we anticipated being selected with a premium selection. It turns out, the Jaguars were just starting the run of rugged, physical tight ends who can excel in the blocking game. They went with an archetype we are more familiar with when they selected the towering Tanner Koziol in round five. Jacksonville took a huge step forward in the first year of Liam Coen’s tenure. Towards the end of the season, we may have seen the best football we have ever seen from Trevor Lawrence . Unfortunately, as fantasy managers, the offense gave us headaches for most of the season. Outside of Travis Etienne and Lawrence in the season’s back half, there were few reliable contributors, with a committee approach at receiver resulting in Brian Thomas Jr having a miserable fantasy campaign.
