The NFL Draft is behind us, rookie drafts are taking place, and as dynasty managers we are looking ahead to the upcoming season. In our Dynasty Rookie Draft Post-Draft Update series, we break down all the incoming fantasy-relevant rookies, looking at their profiles and where they fit. The basis of the rookie profile involves the usage of STORM analysis, focusing on five key components: Situation, Talent, Opportunity, Risk, and Market. Situation Name: Sam Roush Position: Tight End Pro Team: Chicago Bears College Team: Stanford Draft Status: Round 3, Pick 69 The NFL was all about the rugged, in-line blocking tight end during April’s draft, and the Bears were not going to miss out on the fun. Early in round three, they landed Stanford’s Sam Roush, a player they hope seamlessly complements ascending star Colston Loveland and veteran Cole Kmet . This archetype of player feels like a reach, but then you look up in March and realize Charlie Kolar is getting a good payday in free agency. The league is valuing these players more and more as teams deploy more heavy sets, giving Roush a clear pathway to a significant role. Ben Johnson looks to have a very intentional plan on offense. Will it lead to Roush providing any fantasy value? It is the key question for us here, though I am guessing Johnson has little interest in our wants. Talent SUBSCRIBE TO DLF PREMIUM!
