The NFL Draft is behind us, rookie drafts are taking place, and as dynasty managers, we are looking ahead to the upcoming season. In our Dynasty Rookie Post-Draft Update series, we break down all the incoming fantasy-relevant rookies, looking at their profiles and where they fit. The basis of the rookie profile involves the usage of STORM analysis, focusing on five key components: Situation, Talent, Opportunity, Risk, and Market. Situation Name: KC Concepcion Position: Wide Receiver Pro Team: Cleveland Browns College Team: Texas A&M Draft Status: Round 1; Pick 24 As a three-star recruit, Concepcion burst onto the scene as a true freshman at NC State, finishing the 2023 season with 71 receptions for 839 yards and ten touchdowns - a truly astonishing figure for a player’s first year in college. Adding to that, he was a threat in the rushing game as a receiver, adding 320 yards on the ground in just 41 attempts. This feat won him ACC Rookie of the Year, and the future was looking bright for the Charlotte native. Unfortunately, he took a step back in year two, but after transferring to Texas A&M for his junior year, Concepcion once again managed to recapture the spark that led to such excitement about him after his true freshman season. Concepcion finished his third year in college with 61 receptions for 919 yards and nine touchdowns, averaging a career-best 15.1 yards per reception. While he finished with fewer touchdowns than his first year in college, this average showcased his explosiveness, as did the additional two punt return touchdowns. That also led to him winning the Paul Hornung Award as college football's most versatile player. Concepcion’s draft status was potentially more focused on his potential in the NFL rather than his dominance at the college level.
