The NFL Draft is behind us, rookie drafts are taking place, and as dynasty managers, we are looking ahead to the upcoming season. In our Dynasty Rookie Post-Draft Update series, we break down all the incoming fantasy-relevant rookies, looking at their profiles and where they fit. The basis of the rookie profile involves the usage of STORM analysis, focusing on five key components: Situation, Talent, Opportunity, Risk, and Market. Situation Name: Emmett Johnson Position: Running Back Pro Team: Kansas City Chiefs College Team: Nebraska Draft Status: Round 5; Pick 161 Johnson was a three-star prospect coming out of Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he played at the Academy of Holy Angels for his High School education. He was ranked as the 85th RB in the country and the 902nd player overall in the 2022 recruiting class . Johnson was a smaller back at the time, with reported measurements of 6-0 and 183 pounds. He received reported offers from Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, and Western Kentucky before accepting his offer to Nebraska. Johnson slowly built up momentum over his collegiate career. He redshirted his freshman season and started to flash his (RS) freshman season, where he had three games over 70 yards rushing against Northwestern (73), Purdue (76), and Maryland (84). In his (RS) sophomore season, he had a solid game against Wisconsin late in the year, going for 113 rushing yards that flashed some of what got the devy crowd excited, while also finishing the year with 39 receptions for 286 receiving yards. He put it all together in 2025, when he dominated the backfield with 251 carries for 1,451 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns. His receiving work out of the backfield continued as he had 46 receptions for 37 receiving yards. He led the Cornhuskers in receptions last season with that production.
