The NFL Draft is behind us, rookie drafts are taking place, and as dynasty managers we are looking ahead to the upcoming season. In our Dynasty Rookie Draft Post-Draft Update series, we break down all the incoming fantasy-relevant rookies, looking at their profiles and where they fit. The basis of the rookie profile involves the usage of STORM analysis, focusing on five key components: Situation, Talent, Opportunity, Risk, and Market. Situation Name: Cole Payton Position: Quarterback Pro Team: Philadelphia Eagles College Team: North Dakota State Draft Status: Round 5, Pick 178 He did not rise to the top of draft boards like Carson Wentz and Trey Lance before him, but Cole Payton is the latest quarterback from North Dakota State to be drafted. He joins an Eagles organization that is among the league’s best at developing talent. Jalen Hurts – even with his faults – is locked in as the team’s franchise quarterback, a Super Bowl winner who has posted monster seasons when he is in sync with his offensive coordinator. The Eagles have talked up backup Tanner McKee whenever they can, though it makes sense they want more depth to develop long-term. Payton’s toolkit is especially intriguing given this is the team that has mastered the Tush Push and has employed Hurts in the power running game. Payton can do many of those same things and could ultimately be utilized to save Hurts some wear and tear. Talent SUBSCRIBE TO DLF PREMIUM! Gain Instant Access to this resource and so much more!.
