The NFL Draft is behind us, rookie drafts are taking place, and as dynasty managers we are looking ahead to the upcoming season. In our Dynasty Rookie Draft Post-Draft Update series, we break down all the incoming fantasy-relevant rookies, looking at their profiles and where they fit. The basis of the rookie profile involves the usage of STORM analysis, focusing on five key components: Situation, Talent, Opportunity, Risk, and Market. Situation Name: Cade Klubnik Position: Quarterback Pro Team: New York Jets College Team: Clemson Draft Status: Round 4, 110 overall After taking a serious leap in 2024, Cade Klubnik had started to generate first-round buzz, with a popular belief being another year of maturation at Clemson would lead to him hearing his name called on Thursday evening in 2026. The momentum was short-lived, as both Klubnik and the Tigers slumped this past fall, eliminating any hopes he would be viewed as a potential franchise quarterback. The former Tiger ultimately went in the fourth round, a reasonable range for a player of his talents. The physical limitations are real and may portend a career as a backup. We are of course familiar with the struggles the Jets have had at quarterback, so there will be no shortage of opportunity for Klubnik in New York. Geno Smith is locked in as the short-term starter but is anything but a long-term solution. It is highly likely the Jets utilize their significant 2027 draft capital to wade into the quarterback market, but there will be an opening for Klubnik to impress this fall as he looks to establish himself as part of this team’s future.
