The NFL Draft is behind us, rookie drafts are taking place, and as dynasty managers, we are looking ahead to the upcoming season. In our Dynasty Rookie Post-Draft Update series, we break down all the incoming fantasy-relevant rookies, looking at their profiles and where they fit. The basis of the rookie profile involves the usage of STORM analysis, focusing on five key components: Situation, Talent, Opportunity, Risk, and Market. Situation Name: Antonio Williams Position: Wide Receiver Pro Team: Washington Commanders College Team: Clemson Draft Status: Round Three; Pick 71 Antonio Williams is a name very familiar to players in devy formats. After a breakout 2022 season, he was seen as a bona fide superstar in the making, finishing with 56 receptions for 604 yards and four touchdowns as a true freshman - especially impressive for a Clemson team coming off a National Championship run just two years beforehand. However, what followed did not meet expectations, with a disappointing sophomore year ending in him medically redshirting. Although he didn’t see one significant injury, multiple niggles were enough to rule him out for 2023. Williams has three seasons of good production rather than significant elite history. This might be what led to him being drafted in the third round - good draft capital, but maybe surprising if you’d said after 2022 that he’d end up as a mid-round pick. But with a solid slot skillset, it might be that Williams is more suited to the NFL than he was to college. Can he break out at the next level? Or is Williams’ lack of an elite ceiling enough to cap his path to fantasy football success? Let’s take a deep dive into his profile and find out. SUBSCRIBE TO DLF PREMIUM!
