Summer is the best time to evaluate dynasty assets and their place in the dynasty market. In this series, we will bring you a riser, faller, and longshot from each NFL team. We’ll cover dynasty values, potential trades, and overall team outlooks. Let’s jump into the Chicago Bears! Riser: Luther Burden , WR The Bears were one of the most exciting teams last season, with their offense exploding under Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams showing a level of development, even if it mostly tended to kick in in the fourth quarter of games. This off-season, it seems they’ve mostly been satisfied with what they have on offense, although their plans were derailed by starting center Drew Dalman’s surprise retirement. That aside, they moved on from DJ Moore , trading him to the Bills. But very little has been added to the Bears on offense, focusing on defensive additions this summer. Depth Chart courtesy of 4for4.com . That means that last season’s second-round pick Luther Burden is the biggest winner of this off-season, potentially along with Colston Loveland , but Burden is the one with more room to grow. With DJ Moore’s departure, 107 targets were vacated, with Moore finishing third in target share last season. That definitely gives Burden more room to grow into the offense, but paired with Rome Odunze ’s recent quotes on his foot injury, Burden might be in line to rise to the top of the depth chart. Talking about his recovery from last season’s injury and if he was pain-free, Odunze stated that “this is my new normal”. If Odunze isn’t fully healthy, Burden could be the main beneficiary. It was a mixed rookie campaign for Burden, finishing with just 47 receptions for 652 yards and two touchdowns. However, there was a marked difference after Burden missed week nine through injury - his 17-game pace down the stretch would have seen him finish with over 1,000 yards on 72 receptions. All off-season reporting has noted Burden’s dominance in OTAs and Ben Johnson himself noted he’d be “buying Luther Burden stock” - at this point, maybe we as dynasty managers should be looking to do the same.
